Eyebrows were raised in 2014 when it was announced that Linda McMahon of all people would induct The Ultimate Warrior into the WWE Hall of Fame. It turns out that she played a vital role in his returning to WWE back in 1996.

Warrior and Vince had actually opened up talks previously, as the company wanted Warrior to return at the Royal Rumble. Warrior, however, wanted rights to his name and likeness, and the boss wasn't willing to acquiesce at that point in time. Frustrated, Warrior broke off negotiations.

With WrestleMania needing star power, Vince wanted to re-open talks with his former World Champion. Warrior had immense respect for Linda during his earlier time with the company, and she flew to Warrior's Arizona home to serve as a mediator, knowing that Warrior and her husband were on bad terms.

With Linda as the go-between, Warrior got the concessions he was looking for, and Vince acquired his signature.
