X-Pac ended up going on in the semi-main event, losing a short tag match with Road Dogg to Kane and Rikishi. While all four men were established in the upper midcard (and peripherally intertwined with the main eventers) at the time, it wasn't a particularly memorable match, aside from Rikishi doling out three stinkfaces, including one to Pete Rose.

In an interview years later with Jim Ross, X-Pac lamented the moments of stubbornness in his own career, and cited WrestleMania 2000 as an example. According to Sean Waltman, it was proposed that he wrestle Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental title (which Jericho held until February 27) at the biggest show of the year.

In a move he would rue, he turned it down, wanting to instead finish off his feud with Kane, which even he concedes was completely out of steam by then.
