Moments after Undertaker choked out Edge to capture the World Heavyweight title, an enjoyable WrestleMania experience veered into a nightmare for a portion of the live crowd. The firework show for Undertaker's victory celebration nearly ended up tragic, as a guiding cable for the fireworks snapped, sending live pyro toward the seats in the upper deck of the stadium.

In all, 45 fans suffered at least minor injuries from the malfunction, with at least three requiring hospitalization. Thankfully, none of the injuries were especially dire. Given the barrage of bad press WWE had to endure the previous year, the last thing they needed was a spectator dying on their time.

WWE released a statement to their corporate site the next day, noting that there would be an investigation, but those results were never released.
