For as intertwined with WrestleMania myth-making as Undertaker has been for more than a quarter-century, it's somewhat hard to believe that he's only taken part in three WrestleMania main events. That's merely one-eighth of his total WrestleMania participation. Not even winning the 2007 Royal Rumble could put Undertaker in the grand finale.

When Undertaker worked with Edge in the World Heavyweight Championship conclusion of WrestleMania 24, it came 11 full years after his lone prior WrestleMania main event, when he defeated Sycho Sid for the WWE Championship. The match with Edge was also only Undertaker's third World title match at WrestleMania, and his most recent one to date.

Considered an "attraction" in the mold of Andre the Giant (who was also less often a World title contender than his stature would indicate), Undertaker's residence beneath the main event can be summed up as WWE guaranteeing at least two big matches for WrestleMania: a World title match, and whatever Undertaker's match happens to be.
