Before CM Punk entered the WWE scope, Joey Styles made do as the "Voice of the Voiceless" fan, blending snarky smart-markery with astute wrestling knowledge. His run with WWE beginning in 2005 was a mixed bag; his special qualities still managed to shine through, even after taking on the characteristics of a WWE-standard "story-teller."

Styles finished up as an announcer as of April 15, 2008, making WrestleMania 24 his final pay-per-view on headset. This means that the final match that Styles would call as a WWE announcer was Kane's 11-second squash victory over Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Championship.

Fitting that after expressing his disgust toward the WWE way of storytelling in a 2006 worked-shoot, that Styles' announcing run all but ended with ECW's legacy having more manure dumped on its gravesite.
