As is the case with virtually every major WWE match involving an untrained celebrity, a copious amount of planning and preparation went in to making sure Mayweather looked presentable. The man who trained "Money" for his unusual scuffle with Big Show was none-other than Matt Sydal, the future Evan Bourne.

Sydal was deemed to be roughly the same size as Mayweather, and a more-than-capable teacher for helping him grasp the wrestling basics. Sydal was responsible for imparting simple spots for Mayweather to learn, and even performed matches at a WWE practice facility with Big Show, acting as a stand-in so that Mayweather could watch, and would have an idea of what the match should look like.

Critical reception for the WrestleMania match seemed to be mixed, though there was plenty of praise for how well Mayweather performed, making Sydal look like quite the tutor.
