Even after Chris Benoit's autopsy yielded evidence of traumatic brain damage and advanced dementia, it took some time before WWE formally banned steel chair strikes to the skull. In March 2010, it was announced that the act was henceforth forbidden in WWE performances. Knowing that WWE made chairs to the head taboo, Triple H's attack on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 27 was made more jarring and surprising.

At one point during the grueling war, Triple H swung for the fences, nailing "The Dead Man" with a steel chair to the cranium. Even though Undertaker partially raised his hands to minimize the blow, the two were still fined an undisclosed amount for violating company policy. While the amount isn't known, given each man's 'untouchable' status within WWE, surely it would deter others from breaking the rule themselves.
