10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania 34 Facts
8. John Cone Is A Proud Father
For the record, 'Nicholas made history at WrestleMania 34 by becoming the youngest champion in WWE history' is not a fascinating fact. In fact, it can only be surmised that the whole charade happened with the intention of removing René Duprée from the record books. Why the disrespect to the master of the French Tickler? For shame, WWE, for shame.
No matter the anger at it all, 10-year-old Nicholas was chosen as Braun Strowman's mystery tag team partner and the duo subsequently beat The Bar for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships. Yep, a 10-year-old beat Cesaro and Sheamus in a match at WrestleMania. Make of that what you will.
This wasn't just any child though, oh no. Eagle-eyed viewers will have seen a certain glint in the eyes of Nicholas that set bells-a-ringin', as the young buck bore a striking resemblance to WWE official John Cone. That wasn't coincidental, far from it, that was biological. Nicholas, former WWE RAW Tag Team Champion and holder of an undefeated WrestleMania record, was (well, is, obviously) the son of referee John Cone.
Does that make him the first son of a referee to win a title at WrestleMania? Nobody cares. The list of potential partners for Strowman was so long and so varied. It could have been Samoa Joe! It could have been Fandango! It could have been anyone other than Nicholas, son of John Cone!
