While his in-ring career in WWE wasn't much to write home about (although The Vaudevillains were way cooler than people remember), Aiden English still managed to get himself pretty darn over as Rusev's hype man. Has a personalised ring announcer ever failed? The answer to that is 'no', obviously.

Also, how over was Rusev at WrestleMania 34? Why didn't WWE pull the trigger on this guy? He was talented, charismatic, popular and all sorts of handsome, not to mention brutal in the ring and engaging with microphone in hand. AEW best not make the same mistake.

Anyway, Aiden. The Drama King took part in the pre-show battle royal, failing to make much of an impression and eventually being chucked out by Zack Ryder. In this instance, 'failing to make much of an impression' actually means 'lasted 40 seconds'. Still, he had a head of hair when he was chucked out, so there was that.

Fast forward to the main show, and Aiden English is introducing Rusev ahead of the four-way match for the United States Championship, yet there is no hair in sight! That's right, for whatever reason, Aiden English decided to shave his head between his battle royal elimination and main show appearance. A niche Easter egg for follicle fans.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
