When The Shield was running roughshod over the babyfaces of WWE, it was almost assumed that all three would go on to have tremendous careers. Even during those early days, fans were fantasy booking their way through Dean Ambrose heel turns and all the rest, predicting singles championships-a-plenty for the Hounds of Justice.

Those prognostications weren't incorrect, but how many guessed that Seth Rollins would be the last of the three to join the WWE Grand Slam club? Not many, but that is exactly how it all transpired. After pinning The Miz at WrestleMania 34, Rollins finally ascended to the club, just a few months after Dean Ambrose (seven months) and Roman Reigns (four months) respectively.

It truly was a race as well, as all three members won their first main roster championship on the same night, at Extreme Rules way back in 2013. Rollins actually ticked off two other milestones (WWE and United States) before either Reigns or Ambrose won another belt, but injuries meant that almost three years passed between milestones for The Architect. At WrestleMania 34, his place in the elite was confirmed.

No, not that Elite, seriously.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
