4. Hart And Piper Passed Off Hart's Blade Job As An In-Match Accident
Blading was forbidden in the sanitized, kid-friendly WWE (not unlike today), so if somebody spilled blood during a match, it had damn well better be the accidental kind. Hart and Piper had made the decision for Hart to cut himself open during the match in order to heighten the drama. They had to make sure it looked like the result of an unpulled strike.
In the moment, Piper caught Hart with a sucker punch, allowing "The Hitman" to cover his face, spitting a blade into his fingers. Hart sliced a nick just above his right eyebrow, and got the desired color. Once backstage, Hart and Piper put on a show of concern and apologies over the apparently hard punch, and had everyone, McMahon included, fooled.
