10 Fascinating WWE WrestleMania Facts You Didn't Know
10. Only One WrestleMania Did Not Have Any Title Changes - WrestleMania 27
To begin with, only three championship matches were booked for the Atlanta show. The United States title match between Sheamus and Daniel Bryan was pushed back to the pre-show, and ended in a no-contest. Clearly, this was far from the worst Sheamus/Bryan related crime to ever occur at a WrestleMania. The two other bouts were for both World Championships. Edge retained the World Heavyweight over Alberto Del Rio in the opener in what turned out to be his swan song, vacating the gold eight nights later. Then to everyone's surprise, John Cena lost in his bid to dethrone The Miz for the WWE Championship after The Rock intervened. WrestleMania 27 was a poorly-received event, and the lack of a title change was a ways down the list of its flaws.
