It's been four years since we last saw Kevin Owens compete in a Royal Rumble match, and not only is he long overdue an appearance, but arguably a win that would send him to the WrestleMania main event.
WWE owe Owens his Mania moment after it was cruelly taken away from him in 2017 in favour of Goldberg carrying the Universal Championship into 'The Show Of Shows' for a match with Brock Lesnar rather than the superbly built Owens-Jericho feud.
KO has rebounded brilliantly after being saddled with a godawful rivalry with Shane McMahon over the summer. His NXT appearance at WarGames produced a deafening reaction from the fans, and this (coupled with the much-needed turn from Seth Rollins) has catapulted him into the role of top babyface on Monday Night Raw.
The former Universal Champion could easily be positioned as a genuine threat to Brock Lesnar who fans would organically get behind, or to 'The Fiend' if WWE are so desperate to have Lesnar vs. Velasquez.
