10 Feuds That Made WWE

10. Triple H vs. The Rock

The Rock Hhh Ladder This was a beautiful feud because it started while they were midcard, up-and-coming names, and it continued on while they were main eventers at the top of the card. It allowed us to watch their progression, both as characters and as wrestlers, and we were able to choose sides very early on in their careers. As the leaders (in Rock's case, "leader") of young factions in the WWF, it was only normal for Triple H and The Rock to be compared to each other. Degeneration X was so cool that you almost had no choice but to be entertained by them, as they did and said what every teenage delinquent around the world would do and say. The Nation Of Domination was rare, as a pro-black stable in a company (and sport, in general) that hadn't exactly featured black athletes very prominently most of the time. The stables were growing quickly, and they were on a collision course. You could already tell they were destined for bigger things when Trips and The Rock were feuding over the Intercontinental Title. The command that Rock had over live crowds, and the electricity (pun intended) that he brought to arenas, mixed with the growing "ring general" that Triple H was becoming, just let you know they weren't going to stay mired in the midcard scene. It was pretty cool to watch them advance up the card and still remain bitter enemies. Realistically, you could say that The Rock wouldn't have become as big a star as he did without Triple H, and vice versa. They came along at just the right time in each other's lives, able to push each other and help to define one another's careers.
