10 Finishing Moves That Never Made It To WWE

1. CM Punk - Pepsi Plunge

Stories of CM Punk’s fractious relationship with Triple H, particularly following his litigious appearance on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast, are now the stuff of wrestling folklore. While his look and work were considered too ‘indie’ by many in the company, notably Triple H, 'The Game' will have also doubtlessly been unimpressed with Punk’s choice of finisher, a super-sized version of his own Pedigree - from the top rope.

The Pepsi Plunge, named after Punk's favourite non-alcoholic beverage, had been used to burnish the Second City Saint's reputation on the indies, not to mention garner his sole Ring of Honor Championship. The Pepsi Plunge, where the margin of error was potentially incapacitating, was deemed far too dangerous for WWE and was quickly replaced by another borrowed maneuver, this time Kenta’s Go To Sleep.

The Pepsi Plunge, much like its innovator, will more than likely not be seen in a WWE ring anytime soon.
