With such a large roster at WWE's disposal, there are countless matchups that are yet to take place among full time members of Raw and SmackDown. Despite that, one matchup that has been slowly being built for years is between Drew McIntyre and Tyson Fury. The Lineal Heavyweight Boxing Champion has already had his foot in the door of WWE, defeating Braun Strowman back at Crown Jewel 2019 in what looked to be just a warm up for several appearances for Fury in WWE.

Unfortunately that was all put on pause with the Covid-19 pandemic, with Fury not appearing in WWE since November 2019. Despite not being seen on WWE television together, both Fury and Drew McIntyre have been hard at work to hype up a potential matchup between the two on social media and in various interviews. After his most recent boxing match, Fury has claimed that he is retiring from professional boxing, paving the way for this return to WWE.

With rumors that a match between Fury and McIntyre was scheduled for 2020 at a now canceled UK pay-per-view and WWE announcing they will be holding Clash at the Castle in the United Kingdom this September, there may be no better place for the two larger than life stars to face off.
