10 Flops WWE Should Never Have Tried Again

5. The XFL

Disclaimer: the guy writing this is a big NFL fan. Hell, he's even religiously tuning into the upstart AAF, and doesn't mind the occasional CFL game either. From that perspective, having more football isn't a bad thing. If it impacts on the wrestling side of WWE business though, yes, it's the devil.

There's every chance the revamped XFL will do that, just like it threatened back in 2001 when the then-WWF attempted to attach itself to the NFL's post-season like some sort of blood-sucking leech. Sure, the Alliance is kinda' doing the same thing, but that gets a pass because it's aiming to act as a feeder for the top league.

The second coming of the XFL won't be the same sexed-up mess it was almost 20 years ago when it launches in 2020, that's true. Does it deserve a chance? Absolutely. Will it be good for WWE if it drains resources the wrestling wing rakes in? No.

They should've revived ICO-PRO instead.
