No character has been defined by the phrase 'making your own luck' like the late Eddie Guerrero.

Latino Heat managed to lie, cheat and steal his way to the WWE Championship in 2004 and the fans were grateful that their hero had finally ascended to the top of the mountain.

Enter the Olympic Wrestling Machine.

Kurt Angle presented himself as the maniacal heel that Guerrero would have to overcome in order to earn his WrestleMania moment. Angle used the programme to poke and criticise the Champion for his substance abuse. This only made the crowd sympathise for Guerrero's recovery, and they were completely in his corner by the time 'Mania XX came around.

Guerrero found out early on that he may have bitten off more than he could chew, and Angle's ruthless wrestling pushed the Champ to desperate measures.

Untying his shoe lace to relieve the pressure from a clinical Ankle Lock, Guerrero hobbled around the ring, luring Angle into making his move. Another Ankle Lock was attempted but Eddie's boot came loose, leaving Angle vulnerable to a small package and the 1-2-3.

If it wasn't for his ingenuity we would have never got to see the journeyman have his WrestleMania moment.
