Even though it's been 16 years since this match actually happened, it still doesn't feel real.

The match in question all stemmed from backstage segments involving the two, where The Rock referred to The Hurricane as 'The Hamburglar'. These skits were hilarious and helped get Hurricane over as the comedic superhero tonic we all needed at the time.

Of course, none of this hilarity would be much use unless it culminated in a match. Rock played the cocky heel who was too good for the wannabe hero, with Hurricane struggling to get much offense in at all.

A WrestleMania match with Stone Cold Steve Austin was in need of promoting, so the Rattlesnake appeared on the entrance ramp to distract his nemesis.

It worked.

Hurricane rolled up The Great One and the fans lost their minds.

This is a perfect example of how backstage work and leaning into a wrestler's character (however far fetched) in those skits can lead to sizeable crowd investment. The match helped Hurricane feel like a star for a few weeks and he's still cherished by many - just look at his Royal Rumble appearance in 2018.

None of that is possible without this mini-programme and him lucking out on a Rattlesnake rearing its head.
