AEW Dynamite #15 - Bash At The Beach on Jan 15th 2020, teaming with Dustin Rhodes & Q. T. Marshall against MJF & The Blade & The Butcher

Diamond Dallas Page had his last match in 2020, not bad for somebody who retired after a neck injury in 2002.

If DDP hadn't returned to wrestling in 2004, his last ever match would've been a loss against Hardcore Holly. No three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion deserves to go out like that... Instead he followed up a lengthy career in Dubya-See-Dubya and a stop-start stint in WWE with a globetrotting final act that ended with him returning to TNT for another installment of Bash at the Beach.

Did DDP need to come back? In a word: no. As much as the fans loved seeing the Diamond Cutter, it's no exaggeration to say that Page was saving lives, with Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, and Chris Jericho all coming out and saying that DDP Yoga helped them through some of the hardest times of their lives.

Nobody ever really retires in this business though. After a run in TNA and a tour of the indies, DDP made his way to AEW to help Cody (sans last name) take out Chris Jericho. Page and Jericho with the son of Dusty on TNT in 2020... WCW marks eat your heart out!

The feud ended at Bash at the Beach; Page teamed with Dustin Rhodes and Q. T. Marshall to take on MJF, The Butcher and The Blade. In true retirement match fashion, DDP ended the night on his back.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
