10 Forgotten Final Matches Of WWE Legends

2. The Fabulous Moolah

WWE

SmackDown on Sep 21st 2004, teaming with Mae Young against Dawn Marie & Torrie Wilson

The Fabulous Moolah has one of the most storied careers of any wrestler out there. It's also an extremely complicated one that's filled with controversy that we won't go into here.

Having competed in the NWA her entire career, Moolah was lured to the land of WWE and encouraged to bring her NWA World Women's Championship with her. She'd retire almost five years later, with a final match against Madusa at an indie show. You must know where this is going by now...

Jump ahead to the peak of the Attitude Era and suddenly Moolah was back!

She'd spend most of her time with Mae Young, intereferring in what was now a far more sexualised women's division. If you thought Goldberg was too old to be Universal Champion, Moolah defeated Ivory for one more run with the WWE Women's Championship while in her 70s... they've been doing it for years! She'd lose the belt back a week later, but the damage was already done.

After a no contest against Big Show and an 80th birthday win against Victoria (yes, these matches did really happen), Moolah teamed with Mae Young one last time against Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson in a "School Girls" tag team match. Wrestling is really hard to watch sometimes.

The older team won in a contest that embarrassed everybody involved. Never say never when it comes to making a return to the ring, unless you're presented with this as a final match.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
