Superkicks are overused to the extreme in wrestling today. You can blame The Young Bucks for that, but Jimmy and Jey Uso sure didn't help things by lacing their WrestleMania 40 match with at least 862 kicks too many. At least. Regardless, nobody delivered the move like peak era Shawn Michaels when hitting the Sweet Chin Music.

That didn't become HBK's established finisher until the mid-1990s, which might shock some fans. Pre-Sweet Chin, Shawn leaned on a Teardrop Suplex to put matches away. The low-res screenshot above shows Michaels hitting that very move on Bret Hart way back in 1992. It didn't finish the bout, which might be why Shawn came up with another move.

He could also hit the Superkick on pretty much anybody, and it came out of nowhere to add drama to his matches. Shifting gears to Sweet Chin Music was one of the best decisions HBK ever made. His awkward back suplex just didn't cut it for somebody who wanted to rocket up the card.
