5. Seth Rollins’ Ripcord Knee

WWE banned the Curb Stomp for being too violent, so Seth Rollins had to think on his feet and drum up a brand new finisher. Or, to be blunt, he could just lean on an alliance with Triple H's Authority and start using the Pedigree instead. That's what Seth did, at least for a while. It was never going to last.

Rollins split from The Authority and started feuding with Hunter. By 2017, he needed something a little less on the nose than his old mentor's finish, and that's when the Ripcord Knee became his crutch. Seth began using the move to great effect in 2017, and bragged in promos about turning his biggest weakness (knee injuries) into his biggest weapon.

Fans weren't convinced.

The Ripcord Knee was never a satisfying way for Rollins to close his matches, and it certainly didn't carry the same aura as his Curb Stomp. Eventually, WWE softened their thoughts on the stomp, meaning Seth could start using it again. Good riddance to the Ripcord.
