10 Forgotten Shawn Michaels Matches You Need To See

6. Vs. Rey Mysterio - Eddie Guerrero Tribute Show 2005

Following the sudden death of Eddie Guerrero in 2005, WWE honoured him with a dedicated episode of Monday Night Raw. Rey Mysterio had always been one of Eddie's closest allies, both off and on the screen and agreed to wrestle a "fantasy" match dedicated in his fallen friend's honour. His opponent... Shawn Michaels. The two men had never came across each other in the ring before, because Shawn was a part of the Raw roster, and Mysterio the Smackdown roster and previous to that both worked in different companies. In a time when crossing shows was uncommon, getting to see an interpromotional match was somewhat of a treat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nqiUViDdAU There were also the physical aspects of the match as well, because Shawn had always modelled his style around being the smaller and quicker of the two men in the ring. In this case, Mysterio was both smaller and quicker. Although Shawn stuck to his guns, he adapted his behaviour in the match to suit the conditions, which made it overall a lot of fun to watch for hardcore HBK fans.
