10 Forgotten TNA Wrestlers You Totally Don't Remember

3. Antonio Banks

Yep, that's MVP.

You likely don't remember that Banks worked 4 matches for TNA between 2003-2004 before going on to become one of WWE's hottest young stars in 2006. Being fair, you'd have to have been the kind of fan who tuned into programming like Xplosion to catch his debut. That came with a loss to Erik Watts on the 20 April '03 episode.

Banks didn't end up winning any of his 4 bouts. He jobbed in a tag before IMPACT that July, then got squashed by Monty Brown on the flagship proper a week or so later. Antonio wrapped up his short stay in TNA by losing another tag to America's Most Wanted in August. After that, he cut ties with TNA.

WWE was waiting, but they wanted to see what the renamed MVP could do in developmental first. TNA must've been kicking themselves when they saw what Porter went on to achieve. He could've been a linchpin homegrown success story for the promotion.
