10 Forgotten WWE Experiments That Didn't Last

7. Sheamus Debuts “1-800-FELLA”

Sheamus has put this idea on blast during interviews since, and there could be a touch more criticism coming for it now he's on the outs with WWE. Finally, the world may hear everything there is to learn about the Irishman's fictional phone helpline, and they won't even need to call 1-800-FELLA to find out about it.

In mid-2013, various vignettes began airing that showed Sheamus saving the day...by Brogue Kicking the yellow off everyone's teeth like some sort of well-meaning-but-totally-errant superhero. Marvel quickly got in touch and wanted the 'Celtic Warrior' to play a role in The Avengers. OK, that didn't actually happen. Obviously.

This was another low point for Sheamus. It wasn't quite on par with his King Of The Ring victory and duff royal gimmick, but it was close. 1-800-FELLA was more in tune with the sort of thing you'd see for a comedic lower card gimmick than a refresh for someone who’d been WWE Champion.

Sheamus got injured shortly after the promos began airing, so they were scrapped and everyone promptly forgot they'd ever been a thing. Big ol' S. Farrelly didn't, but he was probably (and secretly) glad that he didn't have to persist with such noise any longer. Main event character, this definitely wasn't.

Fans didn't have zest for more hijinks such as Sheamus rescuing cats from trees or saving someone from choking to death. They wanted to see him work bangers inside the ring. Simple as that. Unfortunately, in Vinnie Mac's non-stop need to 'show personality', this is what 2013 drummed up instead.

Bejesus.
