10 Forgotten WWE Masked Men

7. Avatar

The brainchild of Vince Mcmahon, Avatar was an attempt to cash in on the popularity of the likes of The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and fighting video games of the time. A strange case for this list, Avatar would walk to the ring carrying his mask, put it on a wrestler and then remove it after the match. This was presumably his way to "morph" into a larger than life character, but the shelf-life on the whole gimmick was incredibly short and after a couple of months and a handful of matches it was dropped completely.

The man behind the mask was a young Al Snow who would go on to have much more success after a well received run in ECW and a return to WWE where he became a staple of The Attitude Era.
