10 Forgotten WWE Matches Followed By Something Infamously Terrible

2. Shayna Baszler Vs. Sarah Logan (Followed By Sarah Logan's Firing)

Nothing could have prepared the raft of talent and staff for the news they'd receive during an event so brutal it was given its own name as it was occurring.

"Black Wednesday" got blacker and blacker as, over several hours on April 15th layoffs came thick and fast as the company threw workers under the bus for the good of pithy financial protection and stockholder appeasement. The event was gross, the timing almost certainly premeditated.

The organisation had just got through a live Raw on Monday (before U-turning on their U-turn and returning to a semi-taped schedule), with Logan being a key part of returning some aura to Shayna Baszler that had been lost at WrestleMania. NXT had booked 'The Queen Of Spades' to arrive, break arms, and f*ck off, and that's exactly what happened to Logan in their Money In The Bank qualifier.

Baszler was rebuilt and Logan would have a basic revenge arc to address when she returned. This was good pro wrestling that went bad - the return, callously, may how never happen. Logan gave her gimmick to Vince McMahon on Monday. He decided not to give it back 48 hours later.
