10 Forgotten WWE Matches Followed By Something Infamously Terrible

1. WWE Title Five-Pack Challenge (Followed By The Chris Benoit Tribute Raw)

When Vince McMahon opened up the 25th June 2007 edition of Monday Night Raw with news that Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit had all passed away, he wasn't yet aware of the crime scene he was reporting. His role was to rather rapidly distance the stupid angle about his own death from the very real passings. Nothing in the storylines or ongoing programmes remotely mattered, nor could it - including John Cena and his WWE Championship.

'The Champ' had put away four opponents just 24 hours earlier in a main event that has subsequently gone forgotten in the years that followed, even though it served as one of the weirdest temporary solution pay-per-view headliners in the company's history.

Rising star Bobby Lashley, soon-to-depart Raw Draft pick King Booker, perpetual Cena rival Randy Orton and randomly out-of-retirement Mick Foley were thrown into the shootout for reasons barely explained on television as the company freewheeled through their summer months before the seismic ramifications of the Beniot tragedy took hold.
