10 Forgotten WWE Wrestlers Who Were Supposed To Be Stars

1. Ted DiBiase Jr.

As others on this list have proven, wrestling doesn't run through the blood of every family. That DiBiase is on this list at all, much less the top, is just one of those crazy things about how the world works. For all intents and purposes, Ted DiBiase should have been the second coming of The Million Dollar Man- he already had his father's name, but even when given the opportunity, never fully embraced the gimmick. His WWE career began with a rousing start as he became one half of the World Tag Team Champions with his partner, Cody Rhodes, and the two would ultimately go on to form the foundation of The Legacy, taking on opposition ranging from Triple H and the McMahon family to D-Generation X. And, for what it's worth, Ted DiBiase had the opportunity to star in The Marine 2 soon after debuting. Say what you will about WWE Films, but when they use their own talent, they usually pick someone they believe in. The Legacy would eventually dissolve, and Ted did try his hand at his father's old persona, taking up the Million Dollar Championship belt and even his father's old assistant, Virgil. Unfortunately, he failed to capture the same magic of the original Million Dollar Man. Following a face turn and hosting tailgating parties attended by those he dubbed "The DiBiase Posse," injuries would unfortunately begin to mount. In addition to the time he took off off to take care of them, his television time was reduced following his return. In August 2013, Ted DiBiase, Jr. announced that he would not be renewing his contract with WWE. While he would speak well of his time with the company, he said that he wanted to spend more time with his family. ----- Many will try, but not everyone will succeed, and these are but ten. We're sure you guys can think of more than a few wrestlers who were supposed to be main event draws, but for whatever reason, ultimately were not. But don't just think about them, share them! Who missed the brass ring, or chose to forgo it altogether in favor of other pursuits? Who were you most disappointed to see go? Tell us in the comments below!
