Tyler Reks had the prototypical build of a WWE Superstar, so one would have thought he would go far in WWE with the machine behind him as was the case in Florida Championship Wrestling. However, beyond his physical appearance, his wrestling ability was only decent at best and his mic skills were awful, so then again, it's no surprise he didn't garner much success while on the main roster.

Prior to NXT, WWE's watered-down version of ECW served as the stomping grounds for both the stars of yesterday and of tomorrow. Reks was among those in the latter category when he debuted in June 2009, saddled with a horrendous surfer gimmick and all.

It was roughly a year before WWE finally figured out what to do with him when they turned him heel and made him exclusive to SmackDown, giving him a darker persona that didn't see him talk very much at all. That character was a better fit for him, but the issue was that they never gave him anything of note to do.

His tag team run with Curt Hawkins was perhaps the only memorable thing about his WWE stint before he left the company on his own terms in August 2012.
