Despite spending seven years in CZW as well as some time in MLW, Shane Strickland is perhaps best known for his stint in Lucha Underground as Killshot, where he lasted the full four seasons. The mask he had to wear hurt his ability to tell a story through his facial expressions, but his exceptional in-ring ability mostly did the talking for him.

He was a background player for much of the first season. Starting in the second season, it was revealed he served in the military and that his dog tags meant more than anything to him. That led to a terrific rivalry with Marty 'The Moth' Martinez as well as an incredible series of matches with Dante Fox in the subsequent season.

His loss to Son of Havoc in the Mask vs. Mask match at Ultima Lucha Cuatro paved the way for him to join NXT immediately following WrestleMania 35. His signing took a little longer than expected, but at least he was able to have a proper farewell on the independent scene before bowing out.

Already, he has made waves with his performances in the NXT Breakout Tournament and on 205 Live. Considering he has charisma for days and can go with the best of them inside the squared circle, there is little doubt that he'll be a featured player on whatever brand he's assigned to before long.
