10 Former Stars Who Would Have Been Perfect For WWE's Women's Revolution

7. AJ Lee

It’s easy to forget AJ Lee’s place in the Women’s Revolution with her having retired before it took off on the main roster. However, Lee was one of the first wrestlers to stand up and demand that they start treating women fairly, and was the person who feuded with Paige on her arrival to Raw.

However, that dispute came a fraction too early and was plagued by the issues WWE’s women have often faced. Rather than being about the belt it turned into a weird 'frienemy' situation and saw the women trading wins with no clear goal in sight.

AJ Lee was a great wrestler who was often pinned down into the crazy girl role on Raw. Sometimes that worked for her and sometimes it didn’t. Despite that, she was pivotal in laying down the foundations for the Women’s Revolution by not being afraid to speak out, and it’s a shame that we didn’t get to see her reap the benefits of that in the ring.
