10 Former Stars WWE Should Re-Hire

6. Batista

It's ironic that Batista is now more popular with wrestling fans than he was during his return run in 2013-2014.

Once rejected by fans for taking the rightful spotlight of fan favourite Daniel Bryan, Batista's candid comments regarding WWE's booking have won over the same fans that rebelled against his push.

The Animal has publicly stated he would be interested in another WWE return, but only in an untelevised capacity. With his acting career flourishing, filming commitments for Blade Runner 2 would make it impossible for Batista to appear on Raw weekly.

However, a part-time contribution is all the company would need him for, at least initially.

Given his newfound popularity, Batista performing at house shows would be a great way for WWE to boost the notoriety of its lesser-known performers, juxtaposing them against an established star just as Chris Jericho did before making a full-time return.

Batista looks good, developing performers get in-ring experience against a veteran, crowds get treated to a welcome surprise, so everybody wins.

Despite the creative differences between the two parties, a babyface Batista and WWE writers could eventually work together to create exciting on-camera stories if the company is willing to follow through with some of The Animal's ideas.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
