10 Former WWE Stars Who Definitely Should Not Return For Brand Split 2016

8. Melina

Bret Hart once described Melina as the best wrestler in the world. Such a statement seems as implausible now as it did back in 2009 when the Hitman said it, but in a way it was taken out of context. Hart stated that he felt she was the best in a lot of ways, and that her matches were creative and imaginary.

He wasn't wrong in truth, but women's wrestling has moved on in 2016. It is difficult to see where Melina would fit on the current roster if she were to return for the brand split. In fact, the same goes for the majority of females of years gone by. Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly and more would be somewhat unnecessary once the initial excitement died down.

Women's wrestling is in great health internationally, and WWE would be better served by boosting the female ranks by aggressively pursuing fresh talent.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
