Though fans didn't know it at the time, CM Punk was truly unhappy during his last year with WWE. He worked hurt, missed personal events, and felt he was denied the credit he deserved, and it all came to a head the night after the 2014 Royal Rumble, when Punk walked out on Raw and the company.

In the weeks that followed, fans and experts expected to see Punk return, at the very least, to fulfill his contract -- after all, he was being denied any merchandise revenue while on hiatus. Nevertheless, Punk remained at odds with the company, and he was officially terminated on June 13, 2014 -- the same day as his wedding to AJ Lee.

Punk eventually reached a settlement with WWE that allowed him the money from his merchandise, but he still continued to badmouth the company. In a November 2014 interview with friend Colt Cabana, Punk made several stunning accusations against the company, the most damning of which involved medical ineptitude and a lack of concern for Punk's own health while with the company. In response, Chris Amann -- a WWE doctor whom Punk specified as incompetent -- sued Punk and Cabana.

Today, Punk is training for a career in UFC and working as a writer for Marvel Comics. While it's not unthinkable that he will wrestle again, if he does, it won't be in WWE.
