10 Former WWE Superstars Who Need To Return To NXT
10. The Hurricane
You'd have to be a pretty jaded fan not to want to see the return of The Hurricane. NXT would provide the perfect stage for such a comeback. At 40 years old and with his history of injuries, a full roster return is highly unlikely for Shane Helms. He was released from WWE in 2010, and hasn't been up to a whole lot since, wrestling on the indies and making appearances at conventions and so forth. But there's not doubting his popularity with the fans. For a while, The Hurricane was one of the biggest merchandise pushers in the company. He was so over with the WWE Universe (before it was even called that) around 2003 or so, but he never seemed to make it to that next level. After wrestling as Gregory Helms to little fanfare and then taking time off to recover from a broken neck, Helms returned under his Hurricane guise for a brief run on the ECW brand. The gimmick would be incredibly over with the die-hards in the NXT crowd. WWE could debut a Hurricane-esque character and bring in Helms to be his on-screen mentor. Alternatively, WWE could repackage an existing member of the roster. Superheroes are all the rage these days, so why not try to incorporate a superhero character into the product? With WWE now producing t-shirts for NXT roster members it's essentially a licence to print money.
