As part of the week long festivities for the last few years, the fan festival known as WrestleMania Axxess has been a way for fans to interact with WWE superstars, look at cool memorabilia and even step inside a WWE ring. After my trip to WrestleMania XIX when I got to go to Axxess, WWE stopped the annual interactive event for several years. So in 2008, when we headed off to the Citrus Bowl for WrestleMania XXIV, much to our surprise we got to the venue to discover signs for WrestleMania Axxess. It was back?! This sounded too good to be true. How could we not have known about this?! It all became clear when we followed the signs and walked into... a garden. Theres no way for me to make this sound any less crap than it was. There were about ten tents with US Army lanyards, flyers for future WWE events and the chance to meet Hillbilly Jim. Luckily WWE would bring the Axxess format back that we all know today but that day in the Citrus Bowl it was pretty awful. It made me miss the days of trying to spot Abdullah The Butcher brawling in the crowd near the toilets the day before.
