10 Fun Facts About My Trip To WWE WrestleMania XX

6. The Return Of The WWE Hall Of Fame

When WWE announced they were bringing back their Hall of Fame for WrestleMania, I was pretty excited, especially with the prospects of the names they could induct. Would Hulk Hogan go in? Would Roddy Piper make an iconic speech? When Bobby Heenan was announced as an inductee, I knew I had to be there.

The event was held in the New York Hilton and it was a black tie event. If you turned up in jeans or sports shoes, you wouldn€™t be allowed into the ballroom. The company put on a big spread with food, drinks and even superstars and divas doing signings before we all went into the main hall to watch the ceremony unfold.

The Brain€™s speech was, undoubtedly, the highlight of the night. He had the entire room laughing and crying with how engaging and charming he was that night. It was also interesting to hear from guys like Superstar Billy Graham, Don Muraco and Greg Valentine whose prime runs were before I really started watching the WWF.

After the show, we went to go back to our hotel and ended up in a stampede as about a thousand fans swarmed the side entrance to get some autographs. Rey Mysterio was nice enough to stop and take some pictures and sign some stuff. Most of the other wrestlers made a beeline for their bus while I went to a nearby bar to try and comprehend what I€™d just seen.
