10 Fun Facts From My Trip To WWE WrestleMania 29

9. How I Ended Up On LonelyVirgil.net...

We all grow up hoping to reach certain goals, whether it's becoming a fireman or getting married and having children. My aim in life was not to be a part of a website charting how lonely Virgil was at fan conventions. However, in 2013, that's exactly what happened. During a Kevin Nash Shenanigans Party, taking place at the hotel we were staying in, we headed upstairs and mingled with friends and wrestlers. I had noticed Virgil and remember feeling bad for him that nobody was approaching him. Unbeknownst to me, someone took a picture at that point of Virgil on his own with me in the background in a purple shirt. I can only imagine the man with his head in his hand had just purchased a Virgil baseball cap for $100 and immediately regretted it. Two days later, after WrestleMania, as I got off of a train heading back into the city, Virgil was on the concourse trying to charge fans $25 for a photo or an autograph. You gotta admire the guy's hustle, if nothing else. Later that year, my friend Mike came across LonelyVirgil.net and there I was, a small part of wrestling infamy. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go and hang my head in shame.
