One of the big questions going into the Sting and Triple H match at Mania was how they'd fill twenty minutes given both men's ages and lack of experience working together. For the first half of the bout, the two iconic characters battled back and forth and the crowd were completely invested.

Then out of nowhere De-Generation X's music hit and out came the New Age Outlaws and X-Pac to try and take out Sting. My friends were jumping up and down while I stood in shock that this was even occurring.

Then it happened.

The new World order's music hit and I realised that my favourite wrestler of all time, Hulk Hogan had gone Hollywood and was accompanying Hall and Nash to the ring to even the odds. I lost all semblance of being calm. I was standing on my chair, jumping up and down and became utterly lost in the moment.

With one appearance from Shawn Michaels, NostalgiaMania was complete. While everyone would agree that Sting should've gotten the victory, the finish couldn't take away from how much fun the match was in person.

The Monday Night Wars had come alive for one match and the audience lapped it up. When you try to break it down, the whole thing makes no sense, but in the moment it was just fun and sometimes that's what wrestling is all about.
