We didn't know it at the time, but when Daniel Bryan came out to open WrestleMania 31, it'd be the last big show that he'd get the chance to wrestle on a worldwide stage on the WWE Network.

Throughout January and February, I was crying into my duvet with the pain that WWE had chosen Roman Reigns as the top babyface for 2015, and Bryan was going to be relegated to the 7-man Intercontinental Title ladder match. Luckily, by March I'd come to terms with it and wanted to make the best of it.

As Bryan's theme tune blared through Levi's Stadium, my friends and I flung our arms up in the air to join the 'YES' chant. For part of the match, I had the fear that R-Truth, who'd been stealing the belt for weeks (uncomfortable stereotyping there), might pick up the win. But in the end Bryan won the belt and for the first time in his career became Intercontinental Champion!

The victory was an emotional moment for the crowd because it felt like D-Bry was a man of the people and he was back to get his crowning moment for the second year in a row.

We could never have known it'd be his last big in-ring achievement in wrestling but that whole weekend everyone chanted his "Yes" chant because he was truly the people's champion in San Jose.
