Lanny Poffo and Bruce Prichard both gave hilarious accounts of the in-ring insubordination between WWE icons Andre The Giant and Macho Man Randy Savage. The two worked extensively together in 1988 as Savage embarked on a maiden run with the organisation's top title, but as Prichard and Poffo both confirmed, neither party particularly relished it.

Savage's brother Lanny noted that Andre literally didn't want to put his hands on the Champion. “Andre hated baby oil,” Poffo remarked. “But Randy wouldn’t stop wearing it. He stubbornly said Andre’s gimmick is being a giant and mine is baby oil. He never backed down from Andre and they never got along because of it.”

It was perhaps why the Giant constantly went for Savage's hair, then. Prichard commented that Randy was notoriously protective over his thinning locks, and would request that performers not go near his limited bouffant. Bruce reported that the more tempestuous their relationship, the more Andre would grab a handful of Macho's mane.
