10 Funniest Botches In WWE Royal Rumble History

3. The Entire Triple H Vs Scott Steiner Match From Royal Rumble 2003

WWE had to be pleased with the booming reaction that Scott Steiner received from the Madison Square Garden crowd on his debut at the 2002 Survivor Series. Steiner, who had been out of action for a while with some debilitating injuries, had come in to work a series of top line feuds. The first of those feuds was to be with World Heavyweight Champion Triple H. What would have been a dream match in 2000 had, by Royal Rumble 2003, become a nightmare in the ring. Turned out that Steiner still hadn't fully recovered from his injuries and Triple H was also frequently out on the injured list with all manner of muscle tears and hematomas. Steiner hadn't worked a long match in many years and, with Triple H's body falling apart and carrying way too much muscle mass, the match inevitably sucked. Like, really sucked. It was awful, with both wrestlers being so blown up that they could hardly execute basic moves. You know things are bad when Scott Steiner of all people can't even throw a basic overhead suplex. The fans properly turned on the match when it ended in a DQ. Steiner's post-match revenge attack on the dastardly Game elicited further boos, such was the poor quality of the previous eighteen minutes. Adding further insult to injury, Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle tore the house down in an absolute thriller immediately after this train wreck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-apKWsBRkJQ
