10 Funniest Wrestling Shoot Stories
6. Billy Jack Haynes Loses The Plot
A man who, to hear people talk, once had the potential to become one of the next big things in the professional wrestling industry, Billy Jack Haynes has fallen a long way since then.
His recent shoot interviews have revealed that Haynes isn’t entirely with it these days. He’s long held a grudge for his impromptu sacking from the WWF back in the day, although his own version of events changes according to whatever his headweasels are whispering to him on any given day.
Currently, he’s engaged in suing the WWE for compensation for the various physical ailments he suffers from in his twilight years, alleging that it’s their unsafe working environment that caused them. But it’s his longwinded conspiracy theories over the Chris Benoit murder-suicide tragedy that have him listed here.
It really wouldn’t usually be so amusing: a man clearly unwell, ranting and raving about such a horrific incident, one of the worst stains on the reputation of the industry that there’s ever been. But Haynes pulled off something special – in outright claiming that Vince McMahon was having an affair with Nancy Benoit, and was Daniel Benoit’s real father, he managed to turn something awful into a storyline from Dallas.
Haynes wasn’t entirely clear on whether Benoit had found out about the affair and the illegitimacy of his son, or whether McMahon had had all three killed to ensure their silence, but seemed to prefer the latter version, claiming that the placing of the bibles by the heads of each of the bodies smacked of WWE lawyer Jerry McDevitt’s handiwork… because high profile corporate legal eagles are basically serial killers.
Either way, the video evidence of Haynes’ pet theories, coupled with his odd habit of addressing McMahon personally as though he’d be the only one watching, thumping a bible and yelling BOMBSHELL!, will probably not help his credibility in the upcoming court case.
