‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin recently told a story on his podcast about a slight shoulder injury he’d sustained while falling in the shower. Not much of a story… except that Austin was trying to get out in front of the publicity before it went south and out of control.

Filming the upcoming season of reality TV show Broken Skull Challenge, and taking a shower in the bathroom of his trailer on set, Austin found himself listening to a Michael Jackson song on the radio. Feeling a little funky, the Texas Rattlesnake made the rash decision that he was going to attempt to dance along with the song, and attempted a moonwalk across the bathtub.

That was not such a good idea. Austin slipped and fell in the wet bathtub, becoming wedged in the confined space, his legs tangled and his arm and shoulder pinned underneath himself. In pain and unable to move, he called his wife for help, who was forced to call the fire brigade to get her husband out

The toughest SOB in the WWE also claimed that firefighters had had to assist him in removing an errant bath scrubber from an unlikely area, although this sounds like an embellishment of an already funny story for comic effect. By telling the story on his own time and in his own way, Austin stole the thunder of the press and avoided the embarrassment of some tabloid running a story on how the hard man of the Attitude Era fell over in the shower and couldn’t get up.
