10 Funniest WWE Attitude Era Moments

1. Vince McMahon At The Hospital With Special Guests

Part of the reason that Vince McMahon has been a great television character for so long is because he has never been afraid to get his ass kicked or do something funny in order to entertain the fans. The funniest moment from the Attitude Era took place in a hospital room as McMahon was getting treated for his various injuries. Since it's WWE, cameras were there and he was met by some special guests. It was the October 5, 1998 edition of Raw. His first visitor was Mankind (Mick Foley), who at this point was trying to suck up to McMahon and win his approval. It was an awkward relationship that played up the idea that Mankind was an idiot that McMahon liked to manipulate to do his bidding. He brought some presents. One of the presents was Mr. Socko. Normally a guy with a sock puppet on his hand would be a stupid idea, but Mankind was charming enough to make it work. Plus, McMahon sold it so well with the frustrated look on his face. Yurple the Clown was also there too although McMahon wanted nothing to do with it, so he told them to leave. He wasn't polite about it either. http://youtu.be/eNaODwO-hGc The interesting thing about Mr. Socko is that it was just some stupid thing Foley did to make the segment funny. The following week on Raw, fans brought signs supporting Mr. Socko and it became a regular thing for him to use Mr. Socko in his matches. That's how hot WWE was at the time. You just never knew when something was going to become big. Another vignette during the show featured a "doctor" checking on McMahon. However, it wasn't really the doctor. It was Stone Cold Steve Austin. He attacked McMahon on his bed. He attacked Vince's foot by punching it. The bedpan moment was hilarious because Austin hit him so hard that Vince went falling to the floor after it. The scene ended with Austin shoving an enema up Vince's ass. These segments weren't that long, but they worked. That's the key to comedy. You can't drag it on too long because when you do it hurts the joke. Once the joke hits, people remember it. That's why McMahon in the hospital with Mankind and Austin is remembered so fondly over 15 years later. It was WWE comedy at its best.
