10 Funniest WWE Attitude Era Moments

2. The Rock: This Is Your Life With Mankind

It can be argued that Mick Foley (as Mankind) and The Rock had the most memorable in-ring segment in WWE history in terms of using comedy to entertain the fans. They were in the ring for 21 minutes on the September 27, 1999 edition of Raw. The segment earned a 8.4 rating, which wasn't the highest ever in Raw history although it was up there. The highest ever was an Austin/Undertaker match in June of 1999 with a 9.5 rating, but Rock/Mankind was definitely unique and based around being funny. There were all kinds of funny moments as Foley brought out The Rock's home economics teacher, his football coach and a woman named Joanne that was his high school sweetheart. The Rock reacted to them all perfectly by yelling at the teacher for not letting him make pancakes, telling the coach he would shove his whistle up his ass and he unleashed the "poontang pie" line on Joanne because she cut him off at second base. An appearance from Yurple the Clown was also included although it got awkward as she brought out birthday balloons and sang him Happy Birthday. He pointed out that his birthday was actually May 2nd and not in September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUQVTsShUxo The promo was done to build chemistry between Foley and Rock. The idea behind the relationship was that while Rock was a cool guy, Foley was awkward. He was always trying to win the approval of The Rock. Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it did not. Usually it entertained. That's exactly what "This is your life" did.
