There was a time in the Attitude Era where WWE was getting a lot of heat from USA Network because they were doing more adult oriented content including using swear words. They were using these words to get attention. It was working and they didn't want to stop, so they had Degeneration X (Shawn Michaels, Triple H & Chyna) do a mock press conference in February 1998 talking about things they can't say. Triple H mentioned that they will only use the words ass, damn, hell and bi**h. He said they will never use certain words and went on to list several words that we all know aren't to be used on a basic cable television show. They also did a hilarious bit when pointing out that there would be less penis references. That didn't happen when they re-formed the group in 2006. There were all kinds of d**k jokes then. Michaels was hilarious too. "Even though many of you believe that the favorite past time in the oral office is swallow the leader, I did not - I repeat - I did not sleep with that young intern. As a matter of fact, I was up all night." It was classic heel Michaels. He would do or say anything. That changed for him too. It was a brilliant way of explaining exactly what they were going through with USA Network and what they could or couldn't say on WWE TV at the time. That kind of edginess doesn't exist anymore.
