10 Funniest WWE Double Acts Of All Time

5. Shawn Michaels & Triple H

The original DX was, at its core, the brainchild of Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Although there were some ancillary members, even in those early days, the focus was always on Shawn and Hunter. Together, they helped usher in the Attitude Era with some over-the-top crudeness, subversive satire, and a whole lotta dick jokes.

Their humor was as sophomoric as it comes, but dammit it if these two weren't able to sell the whole silly schtick with their stupid, youthful enthusiasm. And to be fair, they also had some moments of genuine comedic genius, as evidenced by their "State of the Union" address (see above).

The aim of their promos was always to mock anyone in a position of authority, even if that person happened to be the guy who wrote their paychecks. Vince McMahon famously left the duo to their own devices, and they used that long leash to ridicule him on national television at every opportunity.

Sure, DX had created some of its most popular segments after Shawn left and the group expanded -- the "invasion" of WCW, their parody of The Nation, etc. -- but Shawn and Hunter provided tons of laugh-out-loud moments at a time when the company was taking itself way too seriously. And for that, they deserve a lot of credit.
